A Mobile Inspection, Wherever the Car Is

We come to the car: a dealer’s yard, an auction or a private seller’s driveway, across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast. Nothing has to be moved, and the seller doesn’t need to take the car anywhere.

The Checklist

What a Used Car Inspection Checks

A used car inspection checks the parts of a car that are expensive to fix and hard to judge on a test drive. InspectCar’s Standard inspection works through 150 points in eight groups: the engine, including leaks, noises and fluid condition; the gearbox and drivetrain; steering, suspension and brakes; bodywork and paint, with paint-depth readings to find repaired panels; the interior, safety features and controls; tyres, wheels and the underside, where it can be reached; signs of accident damage or poor repairs; and the electrics, with a battery load check and a scan for current and stored fault codes. A road test of 5 to 7 km follows where the car can be driven.

Premium covers 250+ points and goes further on 4WD drivetrains, EV and hybrid batteries and luxury-car electronics. Both include a PPSR certificate.

Engine: leaks, noises, smoke, and oil and coolant condition

Gearbox and drivetrain: shifting, clutch, CV joints and driveshafts

Steering, suspension and brakes: shocks, bushes, pads, discs and fluid

Bodywork and paint: panel gaps and paint-depth readings

Interior: seats, safety features, air conditioning and controls

Tyres, wheels and underside: tread, wear, leaks and corrosion

Accident history: signs of past damage or poor repairs

Electrics: battery load check and a scan for current and stored fault codes

FAQ

Car Inspection Questions

What is involved in a used car inspection?

The inspector works through a 150-point checklist (250+ on Premium) at the car’s location: engine, gearbox, brakes, steering, suspension, tyres, body and paint, the underside and the electrics, plus a road test where the car can be driven. Most inspections take 60 to 120 minutes.

$250 for Standard and $395 for Premium. On Standard you can add an EV or hybrid system check for $60 or a 4×4, ute or van check for $49. An Aviloo EV battery test is $250 on its own, or $450 with Premium. See the packages.

It depends on the package. Standard covers 150 points. Premium covers 250+ and adds checks for 4WDs, utes, EVs, hybrids and luxury cars, full paint-depth mapping and a market valuation.

The inspector comes to the car, wherever it’s parked, instead of the car going to a workshop, and you get the report with photos the same day. Mobile or workshop: how they compare.

Yes. Every inspection comes with a digital report with photos and a PPSR certificate, on the day of the inspection.

To find problems while you can still negotiate, ask for repairs or walk away. In a private sale there’s no statutory warranty, so faults found later are yours to fix. Is an inspection worth it?
